Kogut & Wilson Seeks Associate to Join Growing Family, Adoption and Divorce Team

Kogut & Wilson is now accepting applicants for a full-time associate to join our Chicago-based team. Training will take place in person with the option to work from home throughout the week available once training is complete. 

A minimum of one year of family law experience is required, though more experience is preferred. Salary is dependent on experience, plus benefits including health insurance and 401(k).

Kogut & Wilson is a Family Law Firm seeking an associate with a minimum of one year of experience in family law. Applicants must be energetic, organized, able to take direction quickly and accurately, motivated, have great attention to detail, take initiative and can manage a significant caseload, while also learning under experienced family law attorneys. Ability to work independently is a must. We are a friendly, hard-working team – we get along well, have social events and support each other. You can work from home, and we offer flexibility as needed, with the main priority being to ensure that the work gets done.

 Job Description:

  • Draft subpoenas and other discovery
  • Draft pleadings, orders, notices, and correspondence
  • Organize discovery and conduct analysis; create balance sheets; and trace accounts
  • Engage in hearing and trial preparation; prepare and organize exhibits; create note sheets; and testimony outlines
  • Appear in court for statuses and conduct hearings based on experience levels
  • Review work product from law clerks and provide prompt and constructive feedback
  • Assist attorneys on Parenting Coordinator cases by reviewing and recording issues, analyzing issues through court orders and judgments and creating comprehensive responses

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience as a family law attorney
  • Talented communicator and writer
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office Programs, GSuite, and Clio
